Location.........Location.........Location

One of the many things we love about our home is the remote location on the island.  Most of the island can be accessed by paved roads which network around and between the three towns with ferry terminals (Ganges, Vesuvius, and Fulford).  However, we are located on the remote side of the island, where there are no paved roads. 

By car, it takes about 25 to 30 minutes on a dirt road over Hope Mountain from the Fulford ferry terminal to the house.  The remote location offers the best of both worlds: all the amenities, attractions, and activities that Salt Spring Island is famous for, while being able to escape the crowds and congestion to our peaceful waterfront paradise. 

Once at the house, it's easier and faster to take a 15 minute boat ride to Cowichan Bay or Genoa Bay on Vancouver Island (for supplies, dinning out, excursions, etc.) than it is to drive to Fulford or Ganges.

When flying here, you can either land in Vancouver or Victoria.  Then use the BC Ferry system to get to Salt Spring Island.  Check the web site www.bcferries.com for current info on schedules and rates.
